AECOM Ironworker Journeyman in Fort McMurray, Alberta

AECOM is currently seeking Ironworker Journeymen to join our CNRL Horizon project team for the 2021 Spring Turnaround Season.
This is a temporary role , supporting the site operations on various tasks relating to the turnaround of the Horizon Plant. All craft will be working straight through the duration of the Turnaround with a 4 day reset, unless otherwise specified.
Start Dates: Late March-Early April, 2021
Approximate duration: 30 Days
Location: Fort McMurray Area
Travel: Charter flights provided from Calgary and Edmonton, and shuttle from Fort McMurray
Accommodation: Camp accommodation will be provided to all workers
Shift and Work Hours:
Work hours: 11.5 and a half-hour lunch for a total of 12 hours per day.
Day Shift and Night Shift available.
Overtime Eligibility: All craft will be eligible for overtime
CLAC Union agreement in place; with competitive rates.
Ironworkers fabricate, construct and join scaffolding, structural steel buildings, bridges, ornamental ironwork and pre-cast structures. They erect structural steel components, reinforce steel, post tension tendons, install conveyors and robotic equipment, and sometimes perform reconstructive work on existing structures.
Ironworker Journeyman will be expected to do but are not limited to the following tasks:
Read blueprints and specifications to lay out the work
Unload and stack steel units so each piece can be hoisted as needed
Erect and install scaffolding, construction cranes, derricks and other hoisting equipment
Assemble rigging (cables, pulleys, hooks) to move heavy equipment and materials
Attach cables from a crane or derrick and direct crane operators with hand signals or radios
Position steel units, align holes and insert temporary bolts
Check the alignments and join steel parts by bolting or tack welding them with an electric arc process
Assemble and erect pre-fabricated metal structures
Select, cut, bend, position, and secure steel bars or wire mesh in concrete forms to reinforce the concrete
Install ornamental and other structural metalwork such as curtain walls, metal stairways, railings and power doors
Unload and install pre-cast components

For positions that fall into the list of required positions within the AECOM Oil & Gas Alcohol & Drug (A&D) policy, qualified applicants who are offered, and accept, a position must provide evidence of a satisfactory Alcohol & Drug test in accordance with the Company's Alcohol & Drug Policy. In order to be valid, the test must have been conducted at the direction of AECOM - O&G Business Unit.
Journeyman Certification and/or Interprovincial Red Seal
Construction Safety Training Systems (CSTS-09 or 2020) Certification
Confined Space Entry (CSE)
Fall Arrest and/or Fall Protection (OSSA issued ticket is the general requirement)
Valid Government Issued Identification
First Aid – Standard Level Certification
Aerial Work Platform (AWP)
Red Seal preferred or required by provincial regulations and standards.
