Job Summary
AECOM is currently seeking an Insulator Journeyman to join our SUNCOR Firebag Maintenance project team on site near Fort McMurray, Alberta. This is a temp position on a 14/14 shift rotation.

Approximate duration: Temp
Location: 120 km northeast of Fort McMurray, Alberta.
Travel: Charter flights provided from Calgary and Edmonton.
Accommodation: Camp accommodation will be provided to all workers
CLAC Union agreement in place; with competitive rates
Insulators apply, remove and repair thermal and acoustical insulation (e.g., calcium silicate, glass foam, mineral wool, styrofoam, fibreglass) on all types of industrial equipment (e.g., duct piping, heat exchangers, tanks, vessels).
Insulator Journeyman will be expected to do but are not limited to the following tasks:
Responsibly do all work tasks expected of a Journeyperson
Supervise, train and coach Apprentices
Demonstrate the installation, fitting, fabrication and attachment of insulation, finishing and weatherproofing materials to a high standard of workmanship
Use efficiently and safely all hand and power operated equipment used by the insulation industry
Read and correctly interpret blueprints, specifications and building codes
Thoroughly describe insulation materials and their uses
Describe all systems requiring insulation
Co-ordinate insulation work with other trades on the job site
Comply with all safety regulations of the construction industry
Perform assigned tasks in accordance with quality and production standards required by industry

For positions that fall into the list of required positions within the AECOM Oil & Gas Background Check policy, qualified applicants who are offered, and accept, the role must complete a satisfactory pre-employment Background Check. This may consist of all or a combination of the following: Canadian Criminal Record check, an Employment Verification and/or an Education and Accreditation Verification.
For positions that fall into the list of required positions within the AECOM Oil & Gas Alcohol & Drug (A&D) policy, qualified applicants who are offered, and accept, a position must provide evidence of a satisfactory Alcohol & Drug test in accordance with the Company's Alcohol & Drug Policy. In order to be valid, the test must have been conducted at the direction of AECOM - O&G Business Unit.
Minimum Requirements
Journeyman Certification required
Previous Maintenance Services experience required (e.g. Steady state, Turnaround, Shutdown, Outage, etc.)
Common Safety Orientation (CSO), or BSO.
CSTS 09/2021 ticket
H2S Alive
First Aid
AWP
Fall Arrest
Other safety ticket(s) and orientation(s) required, as per the project team
A valid Class 5 driver’s license and a clean driver’s abstract
AOGCA1
Preferred Qualifications
- Red Seal preferred or required by provincial regulations and standards
