Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking experienced, creative, and highly talented Project Managers with Higher Education and K-12 experience to join our Program and Project Management Group in Coral Gables, Florida area.

The responsibilities include but not limited to the following:

  1. Oversees the design and permitting for all projects assigned.

  2. Coordinates project requirements, as needed, with 3rd party agencies.

  3. Manages the design consultants and CM deliverables.

  4. Provides input required for the Monthly Program Report relative to current status and issues to the Construction Manager.

  5. Reviews and recommends approval of construction delivery proposals.

  6. Evaluates, coordinates and provides recommendations to the Construction Manager for changes and/or modifications to design consultants, contractors’ scope of services.

  7. Manages all deliverable reviews and resolves review comments with design consultants.

  8. Reviews and recommends bulletins.

  9. Reviews and recommends change orders.

  10. Technical management of assigned design consultant.

  11. Participates in and chairs, as needed, regularly scheduled progress meetings to review the status of projects.

  12. Participates in the weekly Project Coordination Meeting chaired by the Construction Manager.

  13. Participates in and chairs, as needed, regularly scheduled design review comment and reconciliation meetings with the design consultant(s).

  14. Facilitates resolution of technical and contractual issues of assigned design.

  15. Participates in contractors' weekly progress meetings.

  16. Reviews contractor Requests for Information (RFI).

  17. Provides SBBC with input concerning Errors &Omissions issues.

  18. Monitors actual project scope, budgets, schedules and quality vs. established project scope, budgets, schedules and quality and promptly reports any deviations to the Construction Manager and design consultant.

  19. Manages any required corrective action to scope, budgets, schedules and quality.

  20. Manages the design and construction support activities.

  21. Participates with the design consultant in design evaluations, studies, reports and alternative rankings.

  22. Manages the design consultant’s construction phase services during construction.

  23. Facilitates phasing and operations meetings.

  24. Manages the technical and administrative support staff assigned to the Project Managers.

  25. Coordinates with appropriate Project Administrators.

  26. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Design and Construction Managers.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • 6+ years of experience in Engineering, Construction, Construction Management or other related field, or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

  • Must possess a valid driver's license and clean driving record.

  • Must pass a State and Federal criminal history/security pre-employment background check.

  • Must pass pre-employment drug screen.

  • Due to the nature of this role, US citizenship is required

  • Physically able, with or without an accommodation, to work in indoor and outdoor environments with uneven terrain and variable outdoor conditions, including heat and moisture. Position requires often performing keyboard/mouse operations; Occasionally standing/walking, operating vehicles, climbing stairs, and performing repetitive fine hand movements; Rarely working at heights, wearing fall protection, and lifting less than 25 pounds. Position will include wearing associated personal protective equipment including, but not limited to safety glasses/goggles, safety shoes/boots, hard hat, and fall protection.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or other related field.

  • 10+ years of experience managing vertical construction projects or related public works capital projects.

  • Florida registration as a Professional Engineer desirable.

  • OSHA 30 preferred
