AECOM Senior Environmental Project Manager in Fort Collins, Colorado

AECOM is actively seeking an Environmental Senior Project Manager specializing in the assessment and permitting of energy facilities, with a focus on renewable energy, electric transmission, other energy generation facilities, and intrastate and interstate pipelines for immediate employment within our Rockies area. The primary work location is Denver, but with AECOM offices throughout the Midwest and Rockies, we will consider excellent candidates interested in our other office locations (i.e Chicago). The successful applicant will join a network of existing AECOM specialists across the US, and will have the staff resources from across the Rockies and Midwest extending from the Gulf of Mexico to Canada available to assist in project delivery.
Job responsibilities and duties include but aren't limited to the following:
Responsible for the overall management administration to project and assists in establishing project specific objectives and policies.
Provides management and guidance to subordinate managers, enforces company and project policies, and a primary liaison between AECOM and client interface.
Oversees and ensures all facets of the project are constructed in accordance with design, budget and schedule through subordinate managers and supervisors.
Responsible for administering the project from budgeting/schedule stage through procurement and contract closeout. Position has significant profit/loss responsibility for assigned project.

- BA/BS in Environmental Science, Biology, Environmental Planning, Natural/Biological Resource Management or other related field + 8 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
10+ years full time work experience successfully supporting environmental impact analysis documents and associated technical studies, including National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) compliance, Endangered Species Act (ESA) compliance, avian and bat studies, natural resources surveys and/or Clean Water Act (CWA) permitting.
Strong, current and recent experience with renewable energy development companies, electric transmission developers, utilities, pipeline operating companies, and other energy companies
Demonstrated leadership in proposal development and successful pursuit of competitive bids
Knowledge of state public utility commission (PUC) requirements and related experience with wind and solar siting, transmission line routing, and preparing PUC applications
Experience with environmental permitting, NEPA, relevant environmental regulations and processes, and related environmental considerations
Demonstrated ability to manage environmental planning projects, including client interaction, schedule and budget controls, and invoicing
Master’s degree in relevant field
15+ years full time work experience in related field, focused on PUC siting, environmental permitting, NEPA compliance, natural resources management, and/or cultural resources management consulting industry
Strong experience with client relationship building and leading and delivering environmental permitting services, including ability to manage projects, interdisciplinary teams, and workload, as well as interface with clients
Established agency and client relationships with ability to market and win work successfully and effectively for the team, office and region as related to the renewable energy, electric transmission, utility, and other energy sectors
Experience providing testimony in support of PUC siting applications.
Experience working in a fast-paced consulting environment, managing and mentoring staff
High degree of self-motivation and the ability to work independently with limited supervision, as well as in a collaborative team environment
Organizational management skills and ability to delegate, multi-task and perform detail-oriented work
Position requires that the candidate must be able to travel for agency/client meetings as well as field work kick-off and auditing as required
