We are seeking an enthusiastic Transport Modeller with experience in local traffic modelling to join our Bristol or Cardiff office offering multi-disciplinary design and planning capability. We collaborate across our Wales and south of England teams to deliver exciting projects for clients including Highways England, West of England Combined Authority, Transport for London, Cardiff City Council and Cornwall Council.
This is an opportunity to join an established modelling led design team, bringing over 100 years of combined experience, who can offer mentoring and career progression.
The role is within the Streets sector of our Roads business line delivering microsimulation modelling alongside team members responsible for concept and preliminary design, detailed design, project delivery and construction management services as well as supporting other AECOM business lines with specialised operational traffic modelling.

Support AECOM’s traffic studies, as well as having the opportunity to oversee the contributions of junior staff.
Support with preparing fee proposals for manager approval and contribute to bids.
Opportunity to work directly with clients and assisting with client meetings and presentations
Conducts review of various development applications, including plats, permits, site plans, variance requests
Conducts extensive research in specific or general project areas.
Writes and presents formal and technical reports, working papers and correspondence.
Identifies community problems, issues and opportunities in particular neighborhoods that could be mitigated through better community planning.
Develops strategies to promote economic and community development, or efficient land use consistent with community goals.

Demonstrate experience and understanding in operational modelling using packages: LinSig, Vissim (with VIS-VAP, COM and PC MOVA desirable).
Experience in Traffic Modelling and/ or Transport Planning
A good understanding in Vissim, ideally with LinSig and/or TRANSYT.
Degree or Master qualification in an analytical subject such as: Engineering, Mathematics or Geography or similar
Additional experience in other software such as AIMSUN, SATURN, VISUM not essential, but desirable.
