Job Summary
AECOM is seeking a Safety Advisor to join our Shell Retail Program project team at our Edmonton, AB project location. This is a Temporary position on 5/2 schedule.
The Safety Advisor develops and manages SH&E programs for the company, business lines, regions, and/or clients. The Safety Advisor provides leadership and support to Operations to help the organization achieve SH&E goals and objectives and assists the business to meet regulatory requirements relating to specific SH&E obligations e.g. trained SH&E professionals in business/projects, officer duties, statutory reporting etc.
Responsibilities
Under limited supervision, responsible for moderately complex technical work in a wide range of environmental, safety and health disciplines to achieve compliance with SH&E standards along with federal and state regulatory requirements.
Maintains current knowledge of specific government agency requirements.
Exhibits knowledge and applies the fundamental concepts, practices and procedures of their environmental specialty.
Independently determines and develops approaches to solutions.
Develops, implements and maintains safety and health programs, systems and procedures. Monitors and prevents hazards and diseases in the work area.
Investigates accidents, injuries, and complaints concerning hazards in the workplace.
Recommends improvements in processes, design, procedures and operating equipment to minimize hazards.
Develops and conducts employee training, emergency preparedness and assures the quality of programs.
Provides regulatory interpretation and technical advice.
May act as a lead role for a team of ES&H specialists and/or support personnel.
May administer an ES&H program on a small or medium-sized project.

In order to be valid, the test must have been conducted at the direction of AECOM - O&G Business Unit.
Minimum Requirements
Diploma/Certification + 2 Years of Experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
Construction Safety Ticket - CSTS 09 or 2020
Project specific orientation and/or training will be required to complete, if any
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous Maintenance Services/Project experience is preferred
