AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Entry-Level Mechanical Engineer Designer to join our growing Buildings and Places team in the Edmonton, Alberta office. The Buildings and Places Team is a vibrant and growing business line which delivers project management, architectural and engineering services as well as planning and economic analysis for vertical construction projects.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
Developing various types of reports including schematic design, design development, building assessment, technical memos, and design build/assist scope of work documents
Preparing drawings and mechanical specification in accordance with locally enforced codes
Implementing the design concept through the preparation and production of drawings and specifications
Preparing design calculations for HVAC, plumbing, fire protection systems and sustainable design
Providing technical and administrative support through all phases of the project
Conducting necessary research to gather industry, field, and project specific data
Construction administration responsibilities
Working with prime consultants, engineering consultants, and contractors. Responding to technical queries
Attending site meetings and site inspections complete with reports
Shop drawing reviews
Change documentation and CCN quote reviews
Progress claim reviews
Preparing opinion of probable costs
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical engineering or other related field required
Capable of using spreadsheet, word processing and standard office software
Basic knowledge of industry standard computer software for the position (examples include software such as CADD, HCS, AutoCAD, Revit and AutoCAD)
Knowledge and interest in the architectural/engineering field designing HVAC and plumbing systems
Consulting engineering experience related to hvac, plumbing, and fire protection design
Good communication skills and ability to work with others internally and externally, problem solving skills, ability to learn quickly and do work promptly and accurately
2+ years of experience in Revit
Registration with APEGA as an EIT, or ASET as a CET
Membership in ASHRAE, ASPE, or NFPA
