AECOM Consultant Landscape Architect in Edinburgh, United Kingdom

Job Summary

We are currently seeking Landscape Architects to join and support the growth of our landscape architecture team, based across the UK. As a member of one of the UK’s largest and most diverse landscape practices, you will take a lead on a range of types and sizes of projects, including strategic planning, major infrastructure, urban regeneration and environmental enhancement schemes.

We will consider applicants with a wide range of experience but a proven track record in landscape planning, including LVIA and TVIA, is preferable. This is an opportunity to join a team which is growing and with strong links across many disciplines. We are looking for a team player with good technical skills who wishes to be involved in the development of innovative, cost effective and buildable solutions in an environment that is collaborative, stimulating and challenging. The role would suit a self-motivated individual looking to advance their career in a dynamic team. The role is flexible on location and we offer flexible working as standard. The landscape architecture discipline within our Buildings and Places business and numbers around 72 staff across the UK and Ireland. Our offices supports a range of sectors, such as healthcare, education and transportation, residential and mixed use, urban regeneration, green infrastructure, transportation, energy, flood alleviation, historic landscapes and neighbourhood planning. Major clients include the Homes England, Environment Agency and National Highways, the University of Cambridge and the Ministry of Defence. The business comprises a group of specialists in architecture, interior design, specification writing and visualisations.

Minimum Requirements

  • CMLI with up to two years post Chartership experience. Candidates within the last quarter of P2C will also be considered.

  • Fluency in English and ability to communicate effectively.

  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of the UK legal and planning system with respect to landscape architecture.

  • Technically competent in preparing landscape and/or townscape and visual impact assessments and appraisals and evidence-base documents to support development plans and policies in accordance with best practice.

  • An understanding of project management, including financial control and reporting and programme management and ability to manage own budgets.

  • The successful candidate will be competent in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD and Adobe Creative Cloud software.

  • Experience of some or all of the following would also be very useful: ArcGIS, AutoCAD Civils 3D, Revit, LSS or ProjectWise.

Preferred Qualifications

  • The role requires someone with a degree and post graduate qualification in Landscape Architecture, who will ideally be recently chartered or already on the LI pathway to chartership.
