Job Summary

A Clients and Marketing Manager, UK&I is needed to support the busy Civil Infrastructure (CI) practice. This role will work in conjunction with the end-markets and leadership to deliver marketing programs across the UK and Ireland (UK&I).

The Clients and Marketing Manager will work closely with the Senior Marketing Manager to deliver an integrated marketing communications strategy aligned with commercial goals. This will include program of activities that center on building brand awareness, winning work and enhancing client relationships.

The Clients and Marketing Manages will be expected to work collaboratively with the UK&I Leadership Team, Client Account Managers (CAM) community and Cities Leadership Cabinets as well as other key internal stakeholders to champion the voice of the client. They will also be responsible for managing appropriate marketing and messaging strategies to support prepositioning for key pursuits.


The Clients and Marketing Manager, supporting the UK&I Civil and Infrastructure end market will be part of the Europe marketing team of 25+ professionals and will liaise with business development leaders, operations, and regional teams. Under the guidance of the Senior Clients and Marketing Manager, for CI, the main responsibilities will include:

Strategic thinking

  • Helps to develop marketing communications plans that support the business priorities

  • Manages day to day marketing spend in line with agreed budget

  • Monitors competitors’ activities

Integrated solutions

  • Creates marketing communications campaigns and activities using multi-channel tools, content, and collateral

  • Implements integrated internal and external marketing communications campaigns and activities using multi-channel tools (e.g. events, thought leadership, digital, video, marketing collateral, etc.)

  • Supports the localization of global campaigns, developing thought leadership and encouraging influences across the business to leverage the content to win business

  • Recognizes opportunities to promote our experts and client work with the media, collaborating with the Media Relations team and/or external agencies

  • Identifies awards that are respected among our clients, prospects, and influencer, manages the submission process and maximizes promotion of wins

  • Develops relationships with member organizations to raise the profile of AECOM’s identified thought leaders across key industry themes and growth campaigns

Social media & digital

  • Crafts and executes paid and organic social media posts

  • Contributes to the embedding of digital strategy to support business growth

Client centricity

  • Develops and implements internal communication plans to improve collaboration, employee engagement and build strong client relationships

  • Works collaboratively with the CAMs/SAMs and across the business to champion the voice of the client

  • Works with internal stakeholders to implement change initiatives

Brand positioning

  • Contributes to marketing plans and implements following brand guidelines

Digital integration

  • Takes a ‘digital first’ approach to support business growth

Client experience

  • Develops marketing activities that contribute to the achievement of the desired client experience

  • Delivers activities that create an enhanced client experience

Measuring and monitoring effectiveness

  • Collects, synthesizes, analyses and reports measurement data

  • Is a champion for the benefits of digital engagement and the insights that it can bring to client relationships.

Bids and proposals

  • Implements marketing and messaging strategy to support prepositioning for key pursuits and supports interview prep

Desirable but not essential

  • Experience of using Pardot (or other email marketing platforms) and SalesForce (or other CRM system)

Minimum Requirements

  • Previous experience, working in a similar role and position, in a B2B professional services environment

  • Self-starter with the ability to work as a positive, energized, and adaptable team member

  • Understanding of how to make the most of the marketing mix to achieve business objectives and deliver ROI

  • Previous role within a global organization would be preferable but not essential

  • Strong copywriting and proof-reading skills

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and adept at working across all levels

  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage significant workloads across several different workstreams and deliver to deadlines, with acute attention to detail

  • An understanding of the Civil Infrastructure market is desirable

Preferred Qualifications

Ideally educated to degree level or equivalent with formal marketing training or qualification (e.g. CIM).
