  • Leading and managing others on individual TDD and dilapidations commissions around the UK, including carrying out surveys and report writing.

  • Working with the team to develop business with existing clients as well as new work. This includes networking, preparing submissions and attending interviews as required.

  • Working with the team and others across building surveying to deliver continuous improvement to our standards, processes and knowledge and to develop our more junior team members.

  • Line managing team members, including mentoring, goal setting and associated operations tasks such as managing absence requests, etc

  • Familiarity with a wide range of construction types and understand the common issues and defects associated with these from a building fabric perspective and (albeit to a lesser degree) from a building services perspective

  • Experience of participating in business development, sales and marketing activities, and bidding and winning new work, ideally in both public and private sectors

  • Experience of managing and coordinating multiple surveying projects, and project managing own projects whilst overseeing those of junior staff

  • Experience of all aspects of financial management of professional instructions, from preparing fee proposals, to entering into contract, to managing fee budgets, to final invoicing

  • Awareness of new technologies and legislation appropriate to the fields of TDD and dilapidations

  • Demonstrable knowledge of the relevant RICS guidance notes, particularly those relating to TDD and dilapidations

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Hold a relevant degree, such as an RICS accredited Bachelor’s degree in building surveying

  • Have been a Full Member of your professional body, eg the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS)

  • Ideally, you will have experience of delivering reports via a range of software options, and you will be excited about how you will seek to bring digital innovation to TDD practice
