AECOM Stormwater Engineer in Durban, South Africa
As a Stormwater Engineer in our Water Resources team, you will provide technical engineering and design support in the area of drainage and hydrology for civil infrastructure projects across road, rail and aviation. You will be given the opportunity to actively participate in and contribute to the technical aspects of a range of projects so that they are consistently and successfully delivered according to plan.
This is a role primarily, although not exclusively, focused on Australian projects, providing support to the Water Resources & Coastal Management Team in Brisbane. We are currently helping to deliver large infrastructures projects in the Queensland such as multiple packages of Inland Rail, RIS for Cross River Rail, M1 upgrades at Palm Beach to Tugun, Edmonton to Gordonvale, and Gold Coast Light Rail stage 3.
4-7 years’ industry experience in a similar role – essential.
Knowledge of Queensland’s Department of Transport and Main Roads Drainage Manual, Australia Rainfall and Runoff and Queensland Urban Drainage Manual – advantageous.
Experience in hydrological studies and detailed hydraulic designs of stormwater and drainage infrastructure such as drains and culverts.
Experience in designing open and piped drainage systems, and erosion and sediment control.
Knowledge of detailed road and rail designs, and multidisciplinary interfaces.
Drainage analysis and design software technology applications (e.g. 12D, DRAINS, HEC-RAS, Culvert Master, Civil 3D etc.) – advantageous.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
Bachelor of Engineering (Civil ) or equivalent – essential.
PrEng / CPEng status (Engineers Australia) – advantageous
Experience with 12d design software – advantageous.
Experience with Civil3D design software – advantageous.
