AECOM Senior Stormwater Engineer in Durban, South Africa

Job Summary

As a Senior Stormwater Engineer you will provide technical and specialist analysis and design support in the area of stormwater drainage, hydrology and flood management for a wide range of infrastructure projects. This is a role primarily, although not exclusively, focussed on Australian projects, providing support to the Sydney Water Resources Team.

Our team in Sydney is currently helping deliver large infrastructure projects such as Easing Sydney’s Congestion, Sydney Gateway and Elizabeth Drive upgrades. The work involves large-scale flood and drainage technical packages that interface with other disciplines, from concept level design through to detailed design. We also support our major internal clients for transport, mining and minerals, oil and gas, ports and marine and power sectors.

Minimum Requirements

  • 8+ years experience.

  • Successful track record in delivering work within a consultancy environment, to a high technical standard, including reports/drawings/specifications.

  • Demonstrated experience with water resource modelling and design packages such as TUFLOW, MIKE, DRAINS, HEC-RAS (1D and 2D), RORB, XPRAFTS, URBS, 12d, MUSIC, GoldSim, OpSim, IQQM, Source etc – advantageous.

  • Proficiency in GIS software (ArcMap and QGIS) – advantageous.

  • Good working knowledge of Australia Rainfall and Runoff 2019 and Transport for NSW standards – advantageous.

  • Be willing to guide less experienced engineers and work well in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, or equivalent – essential.

  • PrEng

  • CPEng (Engineers Australia) - highly regarded.
