AECOM Senior Stakeholder Engagement Consultant in Dublin, Ireland

Job Summary

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Stakeholder Engagement Consultant to join our team in supporting the delivery of stakeholder engagement for infrastructure, sustainability initiatives and other development projects across the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland.

We’re looking for a hard-working, passionate individual who can demonstrate experience in delivering effective communications. Knowledge of stakeholder engagement and infrastructure communications would be an advantage but is not essential.

Our team focuses on engagement, consultation and communications during the consenting, construction or delivery phase of projects. We have an ever-increasing portfolio of work across some of the most high-profile developments and programmes across the island. Our stakeholder engagement helps effective delivery of strategically vital infrastructure including transport, water, industrial, energy and utility schemes. Examples of some of our recent stakeholder engagement work are below:

This role will assist with the delivery of a range of stakeholder engagement and communication activities, with a focus on pre-planning application consultation, as well as construction phase delivery engagement for development projects. Delerables vary from client to client, and no two days will ever be the same. However, in the main, this role will include the below:

  • Development of themes, core messages and collateral for multiple audiences and stakeholders, including digital users, the media, local communities, statutory bodies, technical groups and elected representatives.

  • Planning and delivery of events, both physical and virtual, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all attendees, delivering logistics, developing tailored materials, developing Q&As and briefing colleagues.

  • Supporting consultation delivery, developing surveys, managing stakeholder feedback channels and analysing consultation responses.

  • Liaising with internal and external clients, ensuring a high level of customer service and ensuring accurate, timely reporting.

  • Helping support the growth of the stakeholder engagement service across AECOM, focusing on providing advice and support to teams in Northern Ireland and Republic of Ireland. This will require working collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team.

Minimum Requirements


  • Significant experience in a professional communication setting.

  • Desirable – some experience working in a stakeholder engagement/infrastructure communications setting.


  • Demonstrable ability to understand, interpret and present complex information in a communications setting.

  • Ability to managing multiple workstreams across diverse project/clients/services, within demanding timescales.

  • A proven aptitude to manage clients (either internal or external) and work in a collaborative way across teams/organisations.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong use on basic suite of IT packages, including Excel.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Third level qualification in a relevant discipline, including (although not limited to) environmental sciences, planning, social sciences, history, law, communications or marketing.
