Job Description

AECOM is currently seeking Senior Resident Engineers for road and active travel construction projects, located in areas such as, Dublin City, Dun Laoghaire, Kildare, Meath and South Dublin, with more coming online across Ireland.
Responsibilities
Supervision of the Contractor’s works to ensure a high quality of workmanship
Keeping high quality records (e.g. photos, site diary, etc) of construction progress and activities
Ensuring Contractor compliance with the Works Requirements and Contract Documents
Ensuring Contractor undertakes the necessary testing
Responding to Requests for Information from the Contractor
Issuing on-site Instructions to the Contractor
Coordinating any design changes with the designer
Liaising with landowners and stakeholders
Attending and contributing to Monthly Progress Meetings with the Contractor
Undertaking reviews of the programmes submitted by the Contractor
Supporting the Employer’s Representative in the assessment of Contractor Claims and Monthly Valuations
Reviewing as-built drawings provided by the Contractor
Documenting defects and snags for rectification by the Contractor
Supporting the development of more junior staff
Qualifications
Experience in the supervision of road construction projects in an urban environment as a resident engineer or clerk of works
Knowledge of and experience in site supervision of works, including earthworks, drainage, road construction and reinstatement and control of roadworks
Ability to write clear and concise reports, keep work records, measure and record all variations from contract and reading drawings
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:·Proficiency in IT, particularly in relation to document handling and production of reportsKnowledge of health and safety legislation and its application in the workplace
