Job Summary
Overall Purpose of the Post:
To Lead, direct, manage and support Design Teams in the successful delivery of major multi-disciplinary design projects in London, the UK and internationally.
To help grow the Design Management team in the UK throught he exemplary delivery of major projects and by demonstrating value at every opportunity .
To assist the Design Management Director in developing the Design Management offer, ensure technical excellence, best practice and quality of service
To forge relationships with architects and engineers, build relationships which enable business development and growth, securing a strong pipeline of work.
Summary of Duties:
Develop the Design Management Offer
Manage the Design Management Team
Lead the successful delivery of projects, undertaking all design management duties including but not limited to:-
Managing Sub-consultants
Establish and Implement Design Management procedures
Monitoring Design Schedule and Progress Reporting
Agreeing the format and content of Documentation/Deliverables and quality management.
Monitor and control project finances
Organising Project Meetings and the Decision Making Process
General:
This is a Client facing role and demonstrable skills in maintaining and developing both internal and external relationships are required.
The jobholder will be expected to convey a positive attitude whilst maintaining the highest standards in undertaking their work and acting with integrity and professionalism at all times. They should comply with the firms laid down standards, procedures and processes and implement these effectively.
Responsible for the overall management administration to project and assists in establishing project specific objectives and policies.
Provides management and guidance to subordinate managers, enforces company and project policies, and a primary liaison between AECOM and client interface.
Oversees and ensures all facets of the project are constructed in accordance with design, budget and schedule through subordinate managers and supervisors.
Responsible for administering the project from budgeting/schedule stage through procurement and contract closeout. Position has significant profit/loss responsibility for assigned project.
Minimum Requirements
Experience in major multi-disciplinary projects
Comprehensive understanding of the design process, underpinned by technical excellence
Excellent leadership, management and communication skills.
A proven business development capability.
A collaborative, partnering approach
Robust financial management capability
Project and design scheduling skills.
Experience in the development and implementation of design management tools and procedures
In depth construction knowledge/experience
Enthusiasm, Commitment, Energy and Integrity
Proficiency in MS Project/Excel/Indesign and other relevant PM/DM softwares
Ability to secure UK security clearances.
Preferred Qualifications
- Degree or equivalent qualification in architecture or engineering discipline
