Job Summary

AECOM Buildings & Places is made up of dedicated teams delivering projects in Commercial, Residential, Hospitality, Sports Venues, Work Places, Education, Government and Healthcare. Within the Commercial Cost Management team sits the Transaction Advisory team.

About Our Team:

We are the Transaction Advisory team providing project monitoring services to Funders and Financers of Construction projects. Along with specialist services such as Technical Due Diligence and Development Assessments.

Job Responsibilities:

This role involves a senior cost management position on the team. Responsibilities will include preparing initial reports on developments, presenting them to funders, liaising with developers on your findings. Monthly reports to support drawdown requests for the banks. Liaising with clients, supporting the team lead in order to develop new business and maintain high client satisfaction on existing roles. Meeting monthly drawdown dates, visiting the site at least monthly, attending project meetings as appropriate, assessing developer documentation and putting agreed protocols in place to assist effective monitoring of a scheme.

The role primarily involves the traditional bank monitoring aspects undertaken by the team but you may also need to be involved in the Technical Due Diligence work, leading a technical team on forwarding funding monitoring roles or supporting development assessments and master planning schemes.

Minimum Requirements

  • Degree Qualified – BSc or MSc – in Quantity Surveying / Cost Management.

  • Professionally Qualified – ideally Chartered Quantity Surveying Status with the RICS, CIOB or other equivalent institution.

  • Proven experience in a consulting environment providing CM services but in particular funder advisory or bank monitoring services.

  • Excellent numeracy, verbal and written communication skills.

  • Willingness to challenge in a positive and engaging manner.

  • Ability to work under own initiative where appropriate working closely with the Management Team in the delivery of some of our highest-profile projects.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Clear work history and proof of professional development and learning

  • Ideally, you will live locally to the office or be willing to relocate

  • Experience in preparing bid submissions.

  • Prior line-management experience.

  • APC supervisor/counsellor experience

  • Experience of client-facing & developer liaison roles
