Job Summary

Leading on the management and delivery stakeholder engagement for a range of projects, with a focus on pre-application consultation and engagement for infrastructure and other development schemes.

Supporting the growth of the stakeholder engagement service across AECOM, with a focus on providing advice and support to teams across the Republic of Ireland. This will require working collaboratively and iteratively with a multi-disciplinary team.

Supporting the identification of new business opportunities and associated proposal development, which will include promoting AECOM’s stakeholder engagement service to both internal and external audiences.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Principal Stakeholder Engagement Consultant to join our Dublin office to manage and deliver of stakeholder engagement and consultation for infrastructure projects in the Republic of Ireland, focusing on transport, water and energy sectors.

We’re looking for an individual who is passionate about delivering effective communications and who can demonstrate experience in managing projects and resources and engaging and consulting a wide range of audiences to support complex projects. Knowledge of relevant planning and environmental policy developments related to stakeholder participation and engagement would be an advantage.

The successful candidate will be supported by our established Stakeholder Engagement team within the UK and sit within the Environment team in our Dublin office. This role is a key appointment as the team looks to expand its offer in the Republic of Ireland and we are looking for someone who is a proactive and ambitious, who can bring new ideas about engagement and is interested in learning about our work across different sectors.

The majority of our work revolves around engagement, consultation and communications during the consenting or construction phase of major infrastructure projects. We have been involved in a range of high-profile projects in the UK & Ireland, across a range of sectors, including:

  • Dublin Airport Expansion;

  • Luas Finglas;

  • N2 Rath to Kilmoon;

  • N63 Liss to Abbey;

  • N4 Longford to Roosky;

  • A site redevelopment for a major pharmaceutical client;

  • HS2, Phases One and 2;

  • Thames Tideway Tunnel for Thames Water; and

  • Multiple energy and waste management facilities.

You will have the opportunity to work on projects that are transforming infrastructure. Your role will include:

Minimum Requirements

  • Experience or interest in industry sectors relevant to our business (e.g. transport, energy, water, residential development, commercial development), and will be confident engaging a variety of stakeholder groups.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic and government restrictions, much of our work typically involved going out and meeting stakeholders, which we hope to do again in the future. Therefore, a willingness to work flexibly and to travel as and when required would be an advantage.

  • Proficien in Microsoft Office Suite. Some experience of Microsoft Teams tools would also be an advantage, as would experience with InDesign.
