The candidate will join An EHS team currently comprising nine professional environmental and health & safety compliance consultants based in the Dublin and Cork Offices, Ireland. The team is part of a larger Environment team comprising 30 environmental specialists including Environmental Impact Assessment, noise, contaminated land, waste and hydrogeological consultants based in Dublin and Cork.
The core EHS team business is compliance related work related to industrial pollution control, enforcement support work for the Environmental Protection Agency, environmental compliance auditing and environmental due diligence assessments. While primarily working within the EHS team, the successful candidate will also be involved within a wide range of projects across the wider environmental team in Ireland and further afield if the candidate so wishes.
The preferred candidate will be based in the Dublin or Cork Office and should be amenable to undertaking secondments to client premises.
The preferred candidate should ideally have good working knowledge of industrial health & safety compliance.
The candidate will undertake specific tasks under Project Manager direction in a wide range of projects within the areas described in the paragraph above. Tasks will be both desktop and field based. Training where required will be provided, mainly project specific training and mentoring (e.g., via accompanying senior staff on site visits).
The candidate will contribue to the EHS team overall targets and objectives and will ensure that health and safety is paramount to all activities.
Project work will include:
Assist in preparation of applications for EPA Industrial Emissions licences
Undertaking projects related to compliance consulting on environmental licences
Client side EHS management during the construction phase and commissioning phase of projects
Secondment to client locations to assist in client EHS operations management and implemenntation
Undertaking safety and environmental audits & inspections (both client and statutory)
Reviews processes, facilities, procedures and management of change documents to assure conformance to recognized EHS regulations, standards and guidelines.
Provides support to client groups in completing injury/illness analysis, training, self-assessments and addressing specific EHS concerns as they are raised
Assist with Process Safety Management program compliance (with training provided).
Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
- Applied professional EHS and / or related work experience. Good level of proficiency in the areas of environmental compliance, occupational safety, critical thinking and communication skills. Proficient with project management and problem solving. Experience with EHS agency inspections and regulatory advocacy ideal but not mandatory.
- Bachelor’s Degree required, concentration in Engineering, Science, Safety and Environmental, or other technical related disciplines.
