AECOM is currently seeking an experienced Senior Environmental and Sustainability Consultant for Dubai. Duties will include providing the lead role in the conception of creative, contextually responsive and economically viable sustainability strategies, designs and solutions for the region. The successful role will provide guidance on sustainability issues for the team, providing project management and technical expertise on specific and allocated projects, manage client expectations and requirements and provide lead sustainability input to bids and proposals. The role will also include delivery on EIA’s on local and international projects.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Providing the LEED/ENVISION and ESTIDAMA leadership role for applicable design and construction projects.
Understanding sustainability requirements of local legislation, international best practice and standards, and ensuring that they are complied with.
Writing and illustrating environmental and sustainable planning principles, concepts, strategies, controls and guidelines.
Experience in manager EIA’s.
Applying a thorough approach to all projects and delivering sustainable design solutions within accepted professional and client parameters.
Preparing and writing sustainability reports for planning and design projects.
Participating in design workshops with clients and staff as appropriate to the projects.
Working within multi-disciplinary teams of planners, urban designers, landscape architects and engineers to complete sustainability aspects of land development, master planning and building development projects.
Leading sustainability within the team, practicing open communication, with a participative approach to meetings and work commitment to projects.
Developing and implementing sustainability team goals and managing the workload of the Environmental and Sustainability Team to ensure timely delivery and high quality workflow.
Providing technical environmental and sustainability expertise and administration, including sustainable land-use planning, sustainable urban and infrastructure design and sustainable building design.
Leading the preparation of sustainability aspects to bids and proposals.
Applicants must be LEED AP qualified with proven experience in managing sustainability projects or qualified in a similar sustainability rating system such as Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (BREEAM)/ENVISION or Estidama, with a minimum 10 years of experience.
Member of a professional or technical society preferred.
Working towards a CEng, PE, or equivalent licensing/registration as a professional engineer is strongly preferred.
Generally has 8+ years of experience.
Bachelor of Science or Engineering or Architecture from an accredited University
Master of Science or Engineering or Architecture preferred
