AECOM has an excellent career opportunity for a Project Engineer - Civil Infrastructure on our Detroit Water and Sewerage Dept. CIPMO Program. The CIPMO Program has a 5+ year contract to repair, replace and rehabilitate the water and sewer transmission and conveyance system with the City of Detroit. This Program is part of the strategic revitalization of Detroit and the improvement of its neighborhoods. This is an opportunity to be part of a multi-discipline team, co-located with the client, to revitalize a great American city. The type of work performed by the CIPMO is not being done, to this scale, in any other American City. In this position, you will provide technical support on challenging projects that will include municipal water and sewer related tasks, including; engineering and design; report writing, permitting, technical studies, data analysis and quality control. Responsibilities include independent task management of design tasks, client interaction and performing engineering assignments requiring application of engineering techniques, procedures and criteria.
Our Program provides solutions to our Clients in municipal water and wastewater infrastructure, including planning and condition assessment and forecast modeling. Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environment Engineering from ABET accredited institution
5+ years of experience in municipal Water and/or Sewer Distribution design projects
Task management experience on small to medium size multi discipline tasks
Strong written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to conduct effective client presentations and written report preparation
Include experience in CAD, the development of Plans, Specifications, and Estimates along with knowledge of agency and utility coordination
Must be a team player and possess strong interpersonal skills
Valid drivers license
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to independently progress design packages through stages and completion
Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
EIT or PE in Michigan is highly desirable or obtainable within 6 months of hire
Ability to work with GIS and database applications preferred
Resident of the Detroit metro area highly desirable
