AECOM Civil Engineer III in Des Moines, Iowa

AECOM is seeking for a Civil Engineer III to be based in Des Moines, Iowa.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Geometric design of roadways creating horizontal and vertical alignments and cross sections
Preparation of design reports including pavement design reports, design study reports, and technical memorandums
Coordination with project stakeholders including clients, public, utility companies, and permitting agencies.
Plan preparation in accordance with IowaDOT standards including erosion control, pavement marking, permanent signing, traffic control, plan and profiles, and cross sections
Calculate quantities and estimates for IowaDOT and local transportation projects
Local marketing to build the AECOM brand in the local communities
Successful candidates will be expected to work independently and in design teams to advance projects through the IowaDOT process.
Knowledge of IowaDOT and municipal standards for highway and other infrastructure design is required.
Minimum Requirements
- BA/BS + 4 YORE or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized university
5+ years of experience
A current P.E. license in the State of Iowa
IowaDOT design experience
Experience preparing construction plans
Knowledge of agency/regulatory approval process
Successfully designing multiple projects and producing quality work under tight deadlines
Excellent verbal and written communication skills experience
Municipal utility design experience
Stormwater and storm sewer design experience
