The midpoint of the salary range is $128,485.00 annually. Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location.
The job incumbent will be responsible for preparing indirect tax returns, maintaining tax registrations, being the go-to person for business and tax jurisdiction inquiries as well as work directly with taxing jurisdictions on notice resolutions. They will support US Indirect Tax (sales, use, gross receipts, property, business license, unclaimed property) across DCSA and its various business lines with tax obligations in US.
Responsibilities Include but are not limited to:
Manage and respond to tax queries from the Offshore Tax Teams, assisting in all matters of US Indirect Tax (sales, use, gross receipts, property, business licenses, unclaimed property).
Coordinate with offshore compliance team on preparation of US indirect tax returns.
Review and file returns completed by offshore team, includes maintaining the indirect tax compliance calendar and any necessary registrations.
Take ownership and accountability for Tax Jurisdiction’s US Indirect Tax inquiries in a timely manner (i.e. liens, notices) across AECOM DCSA.
Support special projects related to incentives, sales/use tax, business licenses and property tax.
Contribute to the identification and reduction of tax risks related to indirect taxes and participate in the establishment and continuous improvement of controls and processes.
Review work of junior staff in GBS Center.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance and/or Accounting Information Systems + (Six) 6 years broad indirect tax experience with at least 2 years in indirect tax compliance or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
Indirect Tax Systems experience required (Vertex O, VITR, PTMS, License HQ.
8+ years broad indirect tax experience with at least 2 years in indirect tax compliance. Significant and detailed knowledge of Indirect Tax legislation (Sales, Use, Gross Receipts Property, Business License).
Public company experience preferred.Experience with data analytic tools (Alteryx, Tableau, PowerBi, Data Integrity).
Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) required.
Oracle R12 experience.
PMP, Six Sigma, LEAN Certified would be a plus.
Vertex Certification a plus.
Exposure to VAT.
CPA, CMI, CTA or equivalent tax certification preferred.
SQL or other database experience.
Familiarity with technology and automation with a willingness to improve processes and develop best in class methodologies.
Detail oriented; strong research and analytical skills.
Excellent writing and communication skills and interpersonal skills; solid team player.
An attitude that champions collaboration, but also the ability to get the job done independently.
Ability to support multiple on-going projects in a fast-paced environment while working under tight deadlines.
Completes complex tasks and projects requiring independent initiatives.
Ability to communicate with different levels of the business to support tax inquiries.
