AECOM Graduate Geotechnical/Civil Engineer – Tailings and Dams in Denver, Colorado

AECOM is seeking a highly motivated geotechnical engineer to support geotechnical, civil infrastructure and mine tailings project as part of the Mining group in Denver, Colorado. The position will involve working on mine tailings dam and water dam projects to conduct geotechnical investigations and analyses.

This position is expected to begin in January/February or May/June 2023.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Builds analytic and design skills.

  • Conducts engineering design under the supervision of an experienced engineer.

  • Creates designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings under the supervision of an experienced engineer.

  • Collects and analyzes data under the supervision of an experienced engineer.

  • Uses computer software as a tool for solving basic engineering problems.

  • Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule under supervision.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

  • EIT Certification or ability to obtain within 6 months

Preferred Qualifications

  • Masters Degree in Civil Engineering with Geotechnical Emphasis

  • Basic Knowledge of industry software such as GeoStudio, Utexas, Grapher and AutoCAD Civil3D

  • Field/Construction experience; dams experience a plus

  • Familiarity with design reports, drawings and specifications

  • Excellent Verbal and written communication skills

  • Demonstrate proactive problem-solving skills

  • Ability to maintain organization in a changing environment

  • Exhibits initiative, responsibility and flexibility

  • Resourceful, highly organized, and detail oriented

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines

  • Effective time-management and interpersonal Skills

  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment

  • Must possess a valid drivers license

Additional Information:

  • This position does not include sponsorship for United States work authorization.

  • Relocation assistance is not provided for this role.

  • Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range is $55,000-$70,000/annually (exempt).
