AECOM Geologist IV in Denver, Colorado
AECOM is currently seeking candidates to become a Senior Engineering Geologist Consultant to support geotechnical, mining, and civil infrastructure projects in our Denver Office.

The qualified candidate shall have a minimum of 8 to 10 years of experience in consulting with a strong background in geotechnical investigation practice. The ideal candidate will have a professional license registration as a geologist (PG) or certified engineering geologist (CEG) and demonstrated experience in managing multi-disciplinary personnel directed towards solving complex site characterization problems. The position requires effective verbal skills to communicate with internal teams and clients. Written communication skills in the form of technical reports are a must. Additional experience preferred includes: leadership, task management, geotechnical analytical skills, geologic modeling and experience in geotechnical laboratory testing.
Responsibilities of the role will include:
Maintaining long-term relationships with key clients by providing technical expertise, attending client meetings, managing client expectations, and leading project development pursuits.
Plan, budget and manage staff to execute surface and subsurface field geologic and geotechnical exploration;
Select and review geotechnical samples and, assign laboratory testing and supervise the preparation of investigation records;
Supervise and manage geologists to perform geologic field reconnaissance and mapping for the identification of geologic hazards and site characterization;
Provide direction on the design and installation of monitoring wells and geotechnical instrumentation (VWP’s, inclinometers, transducers, etc.);
Provide interpretation of site conditions including: geologic, geochemical, and geophysical data and write geotechnical and geologic reports and developing geologic models;
Conduct geologic research, and develop innovative ways to advance projects with the latest technologies;
Perform liaison activities with regulatory agencies (local, state, and federal agencies) on behalf of our clients;
Provide technical direction and oversight as well as mentoring and training to staff engineers and geologists;
BA/BS + 6 YORE or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
Valid Driver’s License required.
Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Engineering Geology or Geological Engineering (Master’s preferred)
Minimum of 8-10 years of relevant experience
Willingness to travel to domestic and international locations for projects
Experience managing complex subsurface investigations including drilling, soil and rock classification and geotechnical instrumentation
Ability to manage multiple project tasks and meet deadlines with aggressive schedules efficiently while maintaining attention to detail and work product quality
Willingness to work in the field conducting physically rigorous field geologic data collection in a variety of extreme terrain and weather conditions;
Must have excellent communication and writing skills.
Professional Registration including PG, CEG, PE GE preferred
Broad experience with geotechnical projects including mining infrastructure, mine tailings and dams;
Client relationship skills with demonstrated track record
Relocation is available for this position.

50% project site travel required for this role.
Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The target salary range for this position is $70,000 - $100,000.00 annual.
