AECOM is seeking an Electrical Engineer based in the Denver, CO area.
This person will be responsible for but not limited to the following:
As a Mid-Level to Senior Level Professional Engineer, support electricity metering, power systems, SCADA, lighting control systems and networking/cybersecurity at NREL’s two campuses; South Table Mountain and the Flatirons Campus Site. Site Operations/Project Management, Engineering & Construction (PMEC) Electrical Engineer Duties Shall Generally Include:
Senior technical resource may serve as technical advisor for team
Provides specialized technical input to studies and design for staff's specific area of expertise.
Develops study and design procedures to facilitate high quality cost effective work by others.
Participates in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables.
Develops construction cost estimates and estimates of technical efforts for projects.
Uses expertise in all steps of completing discipline component of PS&E package.
Performs quality control review of design calculations or drawings.
Prepares technical specification sections.
Provides input to the development of engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements.
Performs a variety of tasks in support of survey or construction activities.
Duties may differ depending on the specialty area.
Activities may include setting up and operating equipment; inspecting equipment; inspection of engineering installations for compliance with specifications; maintaining project documentation; assisting with the building, repair, or maintenance of a structure or roadway.
Relies on complete knowledge of procedures, company policies, and business practices to plan and accomplish goals.
At this level, incumbents normally handle a wide range of relatively complex protocols; viewed as fully competent within limits of experience.
Works under general supervision.
BA/BS + 6 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
Electricity metering-knowledge of design, installation, programming, commissioning, maintenance, trouble shooting, repair, and tracking/reporting of meters
Power systems, field knowledge and experience with design support, as-builts, and data is required.
SCADA, knowledge of design, installation, and interfaces with other SCADAs is required.
Lighting control systems, experience with maintenance, repair, adjustment of existing systems plus maintaining design guidelines and specifications and reviewing design for new projects is required.
Networking and cybersecurity, knowledge of troubleshooting and correcting network connectivity issues, maintaining meter and SCADA system firmware is required.
- BS Electrical Engineering, Professional Engineer registered in Colorado (or ability to obtain within a reasonable time frame).
