AECOM Construction Project Manager in Denver, Colorado

Job Summary

AECOM is seeking a Construction Project Manager based in Denver, Colorado. This candidate will be required to work remotely, from the AECOM office, in the field and field offices as needed.

Roles & Responsibilities

The Construction Project Manager (CPM) position reports to, and works closely with, the Senior Construction Manager (SCM) in support of multiple contractors. The CPM will also support the SCM in all aspects of the Program as directed by the SCM related to the overall Program success.

  • Collaborate with and support CM Team, Program Team, and Client with construction related activities

  • Support SCM in leading Field Team with project Safety, invoicing, task order schedule status, and the overall coordination of field staff and tracking public engagement with customers and potential claims

  • Work closely with Field Team and multiple contractors in all aspects of construction from planning through closeout

  • Monitor Contractors’ activities and conformance with Contract Documents

  • This position has at times Client facing responsibilities with reporting safety and claims status along with other various purposes in support of the Program

  • Perform overall Quality Assurance for construction activities and work products

  • The CPM will be required to have experience with MS Office (Excel, Word & Project), Procore, and SharePoint

  • The CPM will conduct reviews and provide recommendations to the SCM on contract disputes, schedule variances, change orders, liquidated damages, etc

  • Support all facets of construction including:

  • Working with the public, Field Team on claims, disputes, and implement resolution

  • Contractor invoicing, including review, recommendation, tracking

  • Track property claims & warranty

  • RFI/Submittal review, QA, tracking, and recommendations

  • Coordinate with local agencies and municipalities, including several City & County of Denver departments and other outside agencies

  • Support risk analysis/mitigation and lessons learned

  • Field Work

  • Daily interaction and support of Field Team

  • Coordination with client’s field Operations & Maintenance staff

  • Support Field Team with Contractor job site meetings, weekly progress meetings, quality reviews, scheduling

  • In conjunction with Field Team, maintain the QADL (Quality Assurance Deficiency Log) based on the Contractors’ non-compliance of work

  • Training of Field Team (monthly, annual, and specific)

  • Emergency Response – Responsible for Emergency Response Plan and being the main point of contact for off-hour emergencies. This requires 24-hour on-call availability

  • Safety

  • Perform Field Safety Audits in coordination with Regional HSE Manager

  • Implement and update Program Health, Safety & Environment requirements

  • Support Field Team with all aspects of safety including training and PPE

Additional Information

  • Per City and County of Denver requirements, must be able to show proof of COVID vaccination

  • Must be able to pass Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI) Internet Criminal History Check System (ICHC)

  • Must have valid driver’s license to drive AECOM vehicle

  • On-call for emergency work events required

Minimum Requirements

  • BA/BS + 6 YORE or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

  • Valid Driver's License required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Current OSHA 30 or ability to obtain within 3 months

  • 10-12+ years of relevant experience.

  • Experience working on utility infrastructure, water distribution, storm water, paving, and similar Public Right-of-Way Improvements projects at a large scale ($30M per year)

  • Experience with Project Management Information System (PMIS) and Construction Management Information System (CMIS) software applications and processes, including Procore and Share Point

  • Experience working in/for municipal agencies or utility infrastructure organizations

  • Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The target salary range is $120 - $140k annual.
