AECOM Civil Engineer III in Denver, Colorado

Job Summary

AECOM is seeking a Civil Engineer III to be based in Denver, Colorado.

The job responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • Serves as lead civil engineer on mid- to large size projects.

  • Provides specialized technical input to studies and design for staff's specific area of expertise.

  • Approves and signs off on work.

  • Provides technical expertise for studies and design efforts.

  • Presents complex technical solutions to clients.

  • Performs quality control reviews of work developed by others.

  • Participates in development of technical proposals.

  • Provides estimates for the engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements on large projects.

Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Initiates and creates project designs and plans with responsibility for preparing presentation and transportation and/or civil design drawings

  • Detailed design including preparation of complete calculation packages, and development of details.

  • Guide team for preparation of drawings from early stages of the design to the final contract plans.

  • Serves as a fully capable professional with minimal direction

  • Understand the importance of review and quality control and able to perform review of design calculations and drawings and specifications

  • Prepare and contribute in the development and implementation of technical approach in projects with the full collaboration with the project manager

  • Oversee the work of less experienced designers.

  • Meets with clients to ensure client needs are met

  • Develops estimates of technical efforts for projects

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree + four (4) years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized university

  • 5+ years of experience

  • A current P.E. license in the State of Colorado

  • Colorado DOT design experience

  • Experience preparing construction plans

  • Knowledge of agency/regulatory approval process

  • Successfully designing multiple projects and producing quality work under tight deadlines

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills experience

  • Municipal utility design experience

  • Stormwater and storm sewer design experience

Additional Information:

  • This position does not include sponsorship for United States work authorization.

  • Relocation assistance is not provided for this role.

  • Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The midpoint of the salary range is $97,153.12 annually.
