Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking an experienced Electrical and Mechanical REVIT/BIM Technicians for its Greenwood Village, Colorado office. This position will provide support to the engineering and design staff working on exciting and challenging facilities such as water, transportation, laboratory, healthcare, federal, higher education and commercial projects. The positions will have the opportunity to use drafting software to create 3D models of the mechanical, plumbing, electrical and technology systems supporting the operation of these facilities. A strong interest in building information modeling (BIM) is required along with a desire to see the finished design product in successful operation. Incumbent will assist with the mechanical and electrical design of building systems and the on-going development and maintenance of company BIM standards.

Minimum Requirements

  • Associate's degree and completion of technical trade school courses, or equivalent experience

  • 4+ years of relevant electrical and/or mechanical (HVAC) drafting or design experience with at least 3 years of BIM/Revit experience

  • Proficient with Revit MEP

  • Proficient with AutoCAD, Word, Excel

  • Familiarity with Outlook and FTP software

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deliverable deadlines

  • Work well individually and in a team environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Solid understanding within MEP disciplines and basic understanding within architectural and structural disciplines

  • Understanding of the design and drawings preparation process using project specifications and discipline-associated written and verbal instructions in accordance with established design practices, standards and procedures

  • Basic understanding of engineer’s process of performing and verifying design calculations to support the overall project design

  • Full understanding of the purpose and use of vendor documents, and reviews discipline supplier documents for accuracy

  • Basic knowledge of cost estimating methods and perform material/quantity take-offs utilizing Revit

  • Basic knowledge of the project change control process and can identify a potential change

  • Experience with clash detection, Revit model construction, work sharing, and interoperability like importing and exporting to DWF and DWG formats, as well as Microstation V7 and V8 formats

  • Advanced technical knowledge of drafting techniques and training in CAD and Revit, Building Information Modeling (BIM) and spreadsheet software

  • Demonstrates experience in the implementation and training of Revit in Engineering and Construction environment

  • Ability to balance multiple concurrent tasks, responsibilities, and commitments efficiently and simultaneously

  • Knowledge of/in multiple application platforms and complex systems, including AutoCAD, Revit Structure, Revit Architecture, Revit MEP, NavisWorks, and Microsoft Office Suite. (Bentley MicroStation is a plus)

  • Revit document production experience and skills required

  • Working knowledge of project design and construction documentation production, standard construction techniques and principals
