Job Responsibilities:
Performing basic architectural/engineering calculations.
Preparing specifications, reports and related data tables.
Maintaining liaison with design and drafting groups.
Preparing, reviewing, and approving drawings as required.
Under the direction of the Supervising Architect, may independently perform advanced technical assignments of various complexities within approved schedules and budgets.
May coordinate technical and administrative activities with employees in other disciplines and other departments participating on an assigned project.
May assist in the training and evaluation of assigned architectural and design/drafting personnel.
May review and approve conceptual designs.
May assist in the development of new architectural methods and techniques.
Minimum Requirements
- BA/BS in architecture or related field plus six (6) years relevant experience in programming, planning of laboratory and high-technology facilities or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
Preferred Qualifications
8+ years of experience in programming, planning of laboratory and high-technology facilities
Architectural license
LEED AP BD+C preferred
Understanding of mechanical and electrical systems
Understanding of mechanical and electrical codes and standards as they apply to the general laboratory, clean, pharma and biocontainment environments preferred
Related laboratory architectural planning experience Working knowledge and skill set to guide discussions for laboratory room/space development in conjunction with equipment and other technical attributes
Ability to work with end users to develop process flows, planning process and critical adjacency of research and laboratory rooms for optimum efficiency and flexibility
Leadership experience, including managing client expectations, multi-disciplinary team, and meeting scope/schedule/budget
Advanced knowledge of the architectural planning and design process, construction documentation, construction administration and code requirements
Thorough understanding of codes and standards as they apply to advanced technology facilities
Proficient using software such as Bluebeam to create mark-ups of files in pdf format
Proficient in the use of BIM, specifically Revit preferred

Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The midpoint of the salary range: $110,000 - $130,000
