Job Description

Our successful and rapidly growing Environmental Services Team Benelux currently has a vacancy for a (Senior) Environment, Health & Safety Consultant (32-40 hours p/w) for various projects for The Hague location.
Our new colleague will be working at our modern office in The Hague (energy label A and along the A4) and will be part of a dynamic team executing a wide range of projects for mainly international clients in the Netherlands and abroad in the private sector-. These projects include, but are not limited to, EHS compliance, and EHS due diligence auditing, reviewing and drafting e.g. RI&Es, Safety Reports , and applications of Dutch environmental and safety legislation.
Within this role you will have direct contact with a wide variety of industrial clients (including prospective clients) and be their point of contact to advise on a wide range of Environmental, Health & Safety projects.
You advise our clients on the regulatory implications of findings and act proactively in finding sustainable solutions to their challenges. This means implementing safety, quality and client focus in your daily work and acting as a direct point of contact for the client.
You will also coach and develop our junior and medior consultants and manage projects in terms of time, budget and quality.
As a (Senior) Environmental, Health & Safety Consultant, you will have a great opportunity to work on interdisciplinary projects (Transport, Construction Services, Ports and Marine, Water and more) nationally and internationally and have the chance to further develop the EHS department in other areas you are interested in. Our ideal candidate has a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental and Health & Safety Management, Bioengineering, Engineering Physics, Chemistry or related field;
You have an MVK, HVK, MoSHE or equivalent certification/training;
You have at least 3-5 years of experience as a consultant in industrial safety or process safety; Experience in the energy, oil & gas, chemical and/or pharmaceutical sector is definitely an advantage. As is experience with BRZO companies;
You are pragmatic and have expertise in various EHS-related topics and previous work experience in consulting or industry (at least 7 years for the senior position), including a solid knowledge of current environmental, health and safety legislation.
You know the in's and out's of the relevant Dutch laws and regulations, in due diligence, audits and licensing processes (e.g. RI&Es, BRZO, ARIE, helping the client with the pragmatic follow-up of audit findings);
You enjoy working on projects and preparing your own quotes;
You are focused on collaboration and jointly achieving intended results;
You can manage project teams independently, reliably and effectively ('people skills');
Furthermore, you are confident in working in an international, matrix organization and in a team and are willing to travel within the Netherlands and occasionally abroad to meet the needs of specific projects. Demonstrating a strong commitment to AECOM's environmental, health and safety culture is a must.
Finally, we require excellent communication skills, native Dutch and fluent English (both written and oral) and a good customer orientation.
