Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a highly talented and motivated Mid-level Water Resource Engineer for immediate employment in the Dallas, TX office.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Performs hydrologic and hydraulic studies in support of FEMA flood insurance studies and other water resources projects

  • Performs GIS analyses to support engineering and technical services

  • Provides support to a diverse team of professionals in multiple offices throughout the country

  • Reviews and assesses hydrologic, hydraulic, and levee analysis and documentation

  • Supports tracking and monitoring project status

  • Prepares project reports and performs oral presentations

  • Performs Quality assurance checks of models, graphics and reports

  • Provides periodic assistance in processing FEMA (Conditional) Letter of Map Revision (MT-2s) requests, especially, assist in the review LOMRs with complex modeling

  • Contributes to business development, marketing, and proposal preparation efforts

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field

  • 5+ years of experience

  • Excellent knowledge of hydrologic and hydraulic processes

  • Experience with multiple hydrologic and hydraulic models, such as HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, SWMM, ICPR etc.

  • Proficient in using ArcGIS to support hydrologic and hydraulic modeling

  • Working knowledge of the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) and FEMA flood mapping programs

  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills

  • Ability to work independently and self-motivate to take projects to completion

  • Excellent written and verbal Communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional Engineer Certification

  • Certified Floodplain Manager

  • Unsteady flow and 2D modeling experience a plus
