AECOM Geologist I in Dallas, Texas

AECOM is seeking an entry-level (1-3 year) Scientist to join our RCE Department based in our Dallas, Texas office. The desired candidate will be required to assist with collecting and evaluating geological, hydrogeological, and remediation system data in both field and office settings. Environmental fieldwork includes drilling, well installation, aquifer testing, as well as collecting soil, groundwater, and remediation system data. In addition, the position involves preparation and implementation of work plans, cost estimates, data compilation/analysis, and report preparation (text, tables, figures, and calculations). The desired candidate will perform independent hands-on fieldwork, oversee contractors (laboratory, drillers, surveyors), and other field personnel, and interact with clients/client representatives. Task management experience is a plus.
The position requires excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong technical writing skills, exemplary time management skills and an individual who thrives in a team-oriented environment. Flexibility to work on a multitude of diverse projects, a positive attitude, willingness to learn, and commitment to workplace health and safety are imperative. Travel will be required to support the Houston office and other Texas projects. Key computer skills include MS Word, MS Excel, and GIS.
Bachelor's degree in geology or hydrogeology.
1-3 years of experience in an environmental or engineering consulting company
OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification and Supervisor certification or ability to obtain
Strong, effective writing and speaking skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access)
All applicants must be authorized to work in the United States
The candidate must be willing to travel to various job sites; approximately 50-70% travel.
Project experience working with state and federal agencies, state and local, and private sector clients
Participation in Professional Organization(s)
