Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a Civil Engineer for employment in the Dallasand Fort Worthoffices. AECOM is pleased to include you in a unique development opportunity, the Graduate Development Program (GDP). This program is designed to support your assimilation into the organization and assist with creating a foundation of knowledge for a successful career at AECOM. Under the responsible charge of a Professional Engineer:

Perform assignments requiring application of standard techniques, procedures and criteria to carry out engineering tasks. Assignments are designed to further develop judgment and understanding of professional and ethical responsibilities.

Exercise judgment limited to developing details of work in making preliminary selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives

Prepare engineering related calculations and develop drawings and visual aids

Work under supervision of a project manager or senior-level team member

Applying knowledge of civil engineering principles and practices for assigned transportation design projects

Assisting a project manager or senior engineer with task production including preparing engineering related calculations, drawings, and visual aids

Assisting in maintaining project documentation

Producing high quality plans and effective in communicating the design concept to the contractor

Transportation design including but not limited to:

  • Geometric design of highways

  • Storm and Culvert Drainage design

  • Hydrologic & Hydraulic Studies

  • Erosion Control

  • Plan preparation

  • Cost estimating

  • Report writing

  • Traffic Engineering

Minimum Requirements

BA/BS + 2 YORE OR AA/AS + 4 YORE

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficient in MicroStation and Geopak design.

  • Professionally licensed engineer in the State of Texas

  • Work on Phase II plan production in bid documents and design build type projects.

  • Provide support in maintenance of traffic and drainage design.

  • Perform utility coordination and apply for the necessary construction related permits
