Job Summary

The candidate will support Test and Evaluation (T&E) events and Verification and Validation (V&V) events involving Navy and Marine Corps Combat Systems in multiple sites. Perform a range of design, development, analysis, or review tasks independently. Acts as a lead on less complex tasks and responsible for design, analyses, or design reviews. Lead and coordinate the installation, modification, monitoring, operation, testing, and servicing of equipment and systems at client sites. Provide technical data and evaluation for components, equipment and systems consistent with engineering plans, layout and contract requirement. May support engineers in the development of technical proposal and provide input on the technical content and level of effort of the proposed scope of work.

Individual will provide direct support to the Government customer in the setup, configuration, documentation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of network devices in a fast paced Research, Development, Test, and Evaluation lab environment. Individual will support legacy and future systems as well as technical refreshes/upgrades for switches, routers, firewalls, NTP servers, log servers, Call Managers, VoIP Phones, etc. on various DoD connected networks. Individual will be required to research and respond to issues from the acquisition community and the operating forces as well as to develop and brief information to multiple levels of Program Management. Individual will build and install cabling/wiring for systems, video/telecommunication systems and peripheral equipment to include CAT5/6, RJ-11, RJ-45, Single/Multi-Mode Fiber, & ST/SC/LC patch cables.

Minimum Requirements

The Tactical Systems Technician (TST) shall have four (4) years of general Navy or Marine Corps tactical networking experience, including two (2) years of training and simulation systems O&M experience. Applicable examples of tactical, training and simulations systems may include Blue Force Tracker, SWAN-D, COC, CAC2S, WASP, MLST3, ASTATS, or NGS.

  • The TST shall have the ability to work independently and in a team environment.

  • The TST must have experience in Cyber Security procedures as they relate to configuring network devices.

Must have a thorough understanding of the concepts of Cyber security and be able to identify, mitigate, and document vulnerabilities in a tactical environment, including routing, switching, firewalls, Ports, Protocols, and Services.

SATCOM- Dedicated and Demand Assigned Multiple Access (DAMA)

  • Radio (HF, VHF, UHF)

  • Ground Combat Systems (Combat Identification/Tracking)

  • Individual must have ability to maintain and possess Secret Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Excellent communications and analytical skills; working knowledge of Navy/Marine Corps Combat systems and Simulation/Stimulation software application programs.

  • This position will require the ability to investigate, troubleshoot, and design solutions to problems in operational hardware and software.

  • Position may require travel

  • Experience with using the KG-175G for secure network communications
