Job Summary

Seeking Senior Strategic Weapons System Documentation Lead to support an upcoming contract award!

AECOM will provide all technical and engineering stages of development, test, integration, and fielding of safe and innovative weapon control systems, detection systems support, advanced weapon systems support, autonomous system support, mechanical and electrical technician support towards assembly and integration. This will be done for lethal and non-lethal weapons, guidance and control, unmanned and autonomous systems, advanced sensory, and weapons effectiveness for surface warfare, maritime operations, expeditionary warfare and special operations.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Develops, coordinates and implements technical documentation as required.

  • May perform and document field investigations and field liaison as required to accomplish assigned tasks.

  • Reviews documentation packages to ensure proper, required documentation is included and applicable steps and standards are in compliance.

  • Monitors, evaluates, and coordinates schedules, as required, for projects assigned to department.

  • Analyzes problems in assigned area of responsibility and may recommend solutions.

  • May prepare documentation packages/instructions as required.

  • Provides technical liaison support with personnel in the field.

  • Attends and participates in a variety of meetings, and task force groups to integrate activities, communicate issues, obtain approvals, resolve problems and maintains specific level of knowledge pertaining to new developments, requirements and policies.

Minimum Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s of Science (BS) or Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree from an accredited college or university; or five (5) years of a demonstrated knowledge base and subject matter expertise in the discipline of operational/technical documentation functions and applications, including the qualifications below; or US Naval operational experience at the E7 level or higher.

  • Ten years of work-related experience demonstrating both a comprehensive knowledge of word processing software applications and office practices and a high degree of skill in applying software functions to prepare complex and detailed documents in Microsoft (MS) Office including MS Outlook, MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Access, and MS Project.

  • Demonstrated expertise in preparing and/or maintaining documentation pertaining to programming, systems operation, and user documentation, as well as expertise in translating business specifications into user documentation, and planning, writing, and maintaining systems and user support documentation efforts.

  • Demonstrated familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures.

  • Six years of concurrent specialized experience in three or more of the following areas with the provision that all areas of specialized experience are covered by the group of Documentation Specialists: Operation of SLBM Fire Control Systems or Tomahawk Weapons Control Systems; operating experience in SSBN Weapons Systems; or direct fleet documentation support.

  • Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and understanding of the documentation of the strategic, combat and/or weapon system equipment it supports, including targeting, operational, and training documentation.

  • Position requires an active Secret Security Clearance.

  • Must be US Citizen.

Preferred Qualifications

  • SSBN Operational Experience as an MT or FT is highly desired.

  • Experience with A Department at NSWCDD or Strategic Systems Programs is desired.
