We have vacancies for talented and experienced project planners/schedulers to join our major highways project teams. The role can be based nationwide throughout the UK. We are looking for individuals with significant experience in the development and management of programmes for complex multi-disciplinary projects. As an experienced project planner you will play a key role in the successful delivery of our clients’ requirements.

Our highways team is regarded across the industry as leaders in technical innovation and technical knowledge. We have fantastic relationships and vast pipelines of work on major highways projects for clients across the UK. You will be empowered and supported to challenge the today’s practices to find innovative solutions. You will also be at the forefront of our continued drive for more automated digital designs and delivery of AECOM’s aspirations for a decarbonised future.

The highways team manages and delivers major, multidisciplinary highways projects across the full project lifecycle: scoping and feasibility, preliminary design for planning, detailed design and support during construction.

As part of our wider national highways community, you will have the opportunity to work on a diverse range of significant highways projects, across all stages of development.

Job Responsibilities include:

  • You will lead and manage the programmes/schedules for a range of multi-disciplinary highways projects using P6.

  • Develop and maintain effective, logic-linked project schedules which comply with contractual and client requirements.

  • Produce reports and commentary to the client and project team advising on the status of the programme.

  • Support the wider project delivery including supporting the team with extracts/filters of the programme so they can manage the detailed activities.

  • You will work with the project team to regularly update the programme. You will lead the preparation and issue of formal updates and planning deliverables as required by the contract.

  • You will identify potential delays and advising the Project Manager on possible mitigations.

  • You will support the Project Manager in identifying and implementing changes/variations.

Minimum Requirements

  • Proven planning experience across a range of projects, preferably including highways projects and/or design stage

  • A proactive, can-do mindset with excellent communication skills including at project levels the project team and both internal and external stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Educated to professional level with a relevant degree, or equivalent in a core business discipline.

  • Experience of highways design and/or construction projects.

  • National Highways project experience (desirable).
