We are currently looking to appoint an experienced Principal Civil & Structural Engineer to work as part of our highly skilled multidisciplinary team in Croydon currently delivering some of the most high profile and challenging projects not only in the UK but also overseas.
We are seeking an individual who:
Will lead and develop our water structures team with the aim of growing its capability, capacity and workload.
Thrives on the technical challenge of heavy civil and structural engineering projects and has experience in the following type of schemes: water treatment works, wastewater treatment works, attenuation shafts, below ground chambers and large infrastructure schemes.
Enjoys working collaborative with design colleagues, contractors and clients to solve complex problems.
Is proactive and able to promote multi-disciplinary working.
Is able to mentor more junior members of the team technically, and foster a strong overall team ethos.

Technically strong in structures and heavy civil engineering in the water industry, your experience should include the design of water retaining structures, reinforced concrete, portal frames and structural steelwork
Take the role as lead structural or civil engineer on water engineering design and heavy civil engineering projects. Have a detailed understanding of relevant codes and standards.
Have experience of the design process in feasibility, outline and detailed design stages. Be the design interface for the contractor and client in the construction phase.
Understanding of the application, benefits and limitations of a wide range of solutions to problems
Understanding of construction and operational requirements within design.
Take responsibility for delivering project work to programme, cost and quality requirements
Ability to liaise with client, contractor and the supply chain
Value and contribute to a strong Health and Safety culture
Have an enthusiastic and collaborative approach to your work, demonstrating the relevant behaviours and work ethos to solve client and project problems
Ability to demonstrate the above through past experience
You will hold an accredited degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, or have a commensurate mix of experience and qualification
You will either be a Chartered or Incorporated Civil Engineer, or be working towards professional qualification.
You will have significant experience of the design of structural and heavy civil engineering projects and the water industry
