What your new role will entail;
Our thriving, multidisciplinary Water Engineering teams in England and Wales are looking for an Associate Director and Technical Director (Electrical Engineering) to join our growing teams within our Birmingham, Chesterfield, Croydon, Exeter, Leeds, Cardiff, or St Albans offices. The teams are delivering an exciting portfolio of water programmes and projects through long term frameworks with key clients including major UK water companies (Thames Water, Wessex Water, Welsh Water, Severn Trent Water locally), contractors and international projects.
Key responsibilities of this position include:
Electrical and ICA Design : Undertake and manage the design and review of electrical and ICA elements in wastewater and water infrastructure / treatment projects, and offer advice, where necessary in a technical expert role
Quality : Produce and review client deliverables, make key technical decisions and identify when specialist input from the greater team is required
Project Management: Prepare and manage the production of bids using internal systems and operations, and assess design resources within the discipline
Specification: Prepare technical specification
Collaborate : With client and AECOM counterparts to ensure stakeholder buy in to solutions, also contributing to AECOMs wider technical capability and innovative approach
Mentor: Delegate tasks, direct and oversee the work of others and act as a technical mentor to more junior staff
Being part of the team;
Our current 50-strong MEICA team’s Client base stretches across water companies (both UK and international), electricity distributors, local government, contractors, the Environment Agency and many others.
As well as providing innovative and industry leading MEICA solutions to Clients, the team also collaborates with a wide variety of disciplines from other offices in delivering projects, including a close working relationship with our Enterprise Capabilities centres in India, South Africa and Romania.
AECOM’s digital strategy is driving the adoption of global digital solutions internally in our design process, to improve quality and consistency and streamline activities. You will help shape these digital offerings and use them on projects, including BIM, Projectwise, intelligent P&ID’s and AECOM’s own tools developed in-house, such as our pumping station generator.
Here's what we will need from you;
Proven experience in managing the technical delivery of large-scale water engineering projects with multi-disciplinary knowledge and using appropriate standards and specification
Strong collaboration and coordination skills between teams, clients and stakeholders
BEng or MEng in a related engineering field with experience in water and wastewater treatment
Chartered Member of a relevant Professional Institution
