Job Summary

Experienced Computer Specialist or Computer Technician to provide stand-alone and networked Linux computer support for DoD


  • Conduct general system maintenance, diagnostics and troubleshooting in support of primary LINUX System Maintainer.

  • Work with end users to setup/provide access via remote connectivity using ssh keys, tunnels and VNC server/client.

  • Stay up to date with all security procedures and software updates while being responsive to any IA issues identified.

  • Provide documentation of scanning and system changes.

  • Work various issues with end users to meet program goals while maintaining IA compliance.

  • Work with end users on software and security changes and impacts on programs and systems.

  • Work with Division IA to implement the policies for the use of the computer system and network.

  • Implement DoD System Technical Implementation Guides and perform ongoing vulnerability scan remediation/mitigations.

  • Support the procurement process and personnel to purchase items as needed to maintain required capabilities.

Excel and Access for tracking and database management of users, maintaining and tracking installed software, and administrative tracking.

Must be technically competent and possess excellent writing and verbal communication skills.

Must have an assertive and interactive personality.

Minimum Requirements

A minimum of BS in Computer Science/Computer Engineering with 2-3 years of related job experience or equivalent. 2-3 years in Linux computer systems hardware and software configurations. IAT level I certification required, IAT Level II certification desired. CompTIA Linux+ (LX0-101 and LX0-102) certification required. CompTIA Security+ (or CISSP) certification required. Position will require the ability to pass and maintain a Security Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications
