The AECOM UK Development Infrastructure team is looking for an enthusiastic Senior Technician to expand its current team profile and capability in the following locations Dublin/Cork & London/ South East.

The multi-disciplinary nature of the UK&I Development Infrastructure team means that we lead on a variety of projects from inception (due diligence, master planning support and scheme viability - including drainage, flooding, utilities and highways), through to detailed design, value engineering, design delivery, project management, execution and handover.
As an essential member of the team, your principal role will be as a design technician producing drawings and design information to support planning applications, detailed designs and construction package information for public and private sector Clients, across all sectors locally, regionally and internationally. You can expect to be active on a number of projects at any given time, and to take responsibility for coordinating the delivery of design information with junior members of staff.

Candidates should be able to demonstrate technical capability in Civil 3D design and AutoCAD, as well as areas such as junction and highway alignment design, foul and surface water drainage, traffic signs and road markings. We are looking to enhance our team with people who have a sound technical background and share our enthusiasm and determination.
Internal and external training opportunities will be provided, as well as support and assistance to progress towards a professional qualification.
A strong understanding of highway design principles together with experience in applying relevant technical guidance to produce design drawings to a high standard;
Development of alignment designs for new highways and junction improvements in Civils3D / AutoCAD environment, together with use of Vehicle Tracking software;
Preparation of S38, S278 and S104 Technical Approval submissions
Experience of the processes for diverting Statutory Undertakers apparatus, with the ability to prepare and analyse Statutory Undertakers asset plans, and coordinate enquiries for diversion works;
Knowledge of relevant technical design standards, including DMRB, Specification for Highway Works, and Manual for Streets;
Demonstrating an understanding of Health and Safety, including CDM requirements or Construction Regulations, the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (Construction) (Amendment) Regulations 2019 (S.I. No. 129 of 2019) Ireland
Ability to work independently, to seek clarity of instructions, check own work before submitting for approval, agree and meet timescales for items of work;
Good written and spoken communication skills, the ability to think laterally to solve problems and to work as part of a team;
Ability to deliver specific project outcomes on time, within budget, to the quality required;
The ideal candidate will also have a good understanding of development drainage design, experience of using MicroDrainage and knowledge of Sewers for Adoption.
HND/HNC or equivalent.
In Ireland - A Higher Certificate (NFQ Level 6) in Civil Engineering or equivalent. Higher-level qualifications (Level 7 or 8) will also be acceptable. Ideally, you’ll be working towards ITech or equivalent.
However, we would also welcome applicants who do not have the qualification requirements but can meet the minimum requirements
