AECOM Senior Project Manager in Cork, Ireland

Job Summary

Our Ireland Project Management business unit continues to grow to service the Commercial & Public Sector markets where it has successfully secured positions with many high profile clients and some of the largest projects and programs in the region. As a direct result if this growth it is currently seeking a full time Senior Project Manager with the following requirements.

Job Responsibilities:

  • The Senior Project Manager will be expected to work with an Associate or Project Director to successfully manage and deliver capital investment projects.

  • The role would cover the whole project lifecycle from initial inception and business case development, through the design and procurement process and onto the site delivery and commissioning phase.

  • A Senior PM should possess the skills and experience to lead and manage a team on a technically complex project, and for developing collaborative relationships with our clients and other team members.

  • Day to day main client point of contact for projects.

  • Manage design teams and project teams.

  • Manage and mentor junior project managers to deliver the PM service efficiently and effectively.

  • Successful delivery of projects with minimum supervision leading to happy clients and repeat business.

  • Manages one or more very complex project, involving a combination of the following:

  • Clients with a national geographic footprint; OR,

  • Projects involving a full spectrum of services offered by IE; OR,

  • Other complexities, such as projects that involve litigation, environmental protection, due diligence, etc.

  • Manages all phases of projects (from beginning to close out).

  • Has consenting and regulatory authority for approvals.

  • Manages other Project Managers.

Minimum Requirements

  • Well developed interpersonal and communication skills are key.

  • Strong experience of delivering technically complex projects in the Commercial sector

  • Proven track record of delivering technically complex construction projects from inception to completion

  • Experience of working in another comparable consultancy environment, or with a client organisation.

  • Good understanding of project Governance and procurement processes

  • Ability to develop long term relationships with all team members, and effectively balance people and processes

  • Previous experience of managing internal resources, including the training and mentoring of more junior staff members

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional Qualified – ideally Project Management/ Construction/Engineering/Quantity Surveying Degree

  • Chartered Status with the RICS, CIOB, RIBA, ICE or other equivalent institution

  • APM affiliation preferred (as secondary accreditation)

  • Good Understanding of contracts (RIAI, GCCC, etc…)

  • Safepass card
