AECOM is seeking an industrial CNC Machine Maintenance technician at the subject matter expert level for a travelling role to be based in Corinth, MS!
- Hiring bonus may be available to qualified candidates outside of the commuting area.
This position travels frequently to established client sites throughout the Midwest and South Central regions, and may travel to new work sites to support business startup teams nationwide.
- Each site visit may require 1 – 3 weeks of onsite work, and expected travel is 50% per year .

10 years of experience as a CNC maintenance technician is a plus, OR
8 years of experience plus an Associate’s degree or technical training is highly desired.
This maintenance / repair technician performs as a technical expert and leader with respect to installing, troubleshooting, servicing and documenting the electrical and controls needs of process/production CNC equipment in an industrial environment.
Responsible for electrically troubleshooting and repairing complex domestic and foreign machine tools and related equipment that perform milling, drilling, and grinding functions to cast iron and steel components. Requires proficiency in troubleshooting CNC / PLC controlled machines with the following components:
Okuma, G&L, Mazak, Lamb, Landis grinders, Waldrich Coburg, Ingersoll, Toyoda , and a variety of equipment in the machine shop.
Fanuc, Siemens, Allen Bradley, Modicon, Indramat, and a variety of other controllers on the machines in the machine shop.
AC/DC analog and digital drives, including Siemens, Allen Bradley, Modicon, Indramat, and various other drives.
Measurement and feedback scale and encoder systems, including Heidenhain, Inductosyn, and various other feedback devices.
Leads small to large repair projects and overhauls with minimal supervision. Provides instruction, mentors and trains less skilled technicians as needed. Effectively communicates with the site management team and the customer to understand requirements, solve complex electrical problems, and provide solutions to manufacturing problems.
The industrial CNC Machine Maintenance technician must have the ability to identify and correct any safety-related issues and perform independent equipment evaluations to identify potential equipment failures.
Exhibits strong leadership skills, such as motivation, delegation, ownership, leading by example, well-developed organizational skills, excellent communication skills, etc.
Supervises complex technical work utilizing a wide variety of resources, including computers. Often responsible for leading maintenance projects from anticipation to inception to completion. Identifies and documents cost savings.
Diagnoses, troubleshoots, maintains, and repairs process/production CNC machines and equipment as well as related mechanical equipment, such as pallets, fixtures, ballscrews, spindles, drawbars, tool changers and ways. Calibrates instrumentation, equipment, and controls for optimum performance.
Recommends activities to improve maintenance methods and equipment performance. Analyzes and resolves work problems.
Develops and monitors work assignments for other technicians and coaches as appropriate.
Creates and modifies site operations procedures for equipment and recommends facilities reliability improvements.
Responds and provides service and feedback to the customer on all work orders while assuring compliance to codes, regulations and industry standards.
Understands company policies and enforces safety regulations.
Safely performs functions of the position including following proper safety guidelines such as performing job hazard analysis, following lockout/Tag out procedures, and wearing PPE as required.
Operates various measuring, diagnostic and testing instruments to help troubleshooting and repair.
Operates oscilloscopes for troubleshooting and repair.
Operates a variety of equipment such as hand tools, laptop computers and diagnostic hardware to perform work.
Demonstrates a high level of urgency and flexibility to meet emerging business needs.

High school diploma or demonstrated equivalent.
Eight years of experience as a CNC repair technician in an industrial production environment, or demonstrated equivalent combination of education and experience.
Demonstrated performance as a team lead on maintenance and repair projects.
Ability to travel 50% to remote work sites and business startups nationwide.
Valid Driver’s License.
Must have the ability to work in an aerial lift or scissor lift at heights up to 30 feet or higher.
Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test.
This position requires a valid Driver’s License.

This position will require the ability to obtain a security access badge at our client’s location.
This position may require various shifts, weekends, and alternative work schedules.
Requires the ability to regularly lift up to 50 lbs.
Requires the ability to regularly climb extension ladders, roof ladder, stepladders, and stairs at least 10 times during shift.
Requires the flexibility to bend/stoop, squat repetitive during shift.
Requires the ability to regularly kneel repetitive for shift.
Requires the ability to move in a 90-degree fashion on a repetitive basis for shift.
Requires the ability to stretch/reach on a repetitive basis for shift.
Requires the ability to walk extensively throughout the plant during shift.
Requires the use of a Company/Client approved utility knife.
Requires the ability to differentiate colors pertaining to wire color-coding.
Some tasks will require repetitive wrist movement.
Requires the ability to interact with all clients in a professional and friendly manner despite periods of stress.
Wear steel toe safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, hard hats and other Personal Protective Equipment as needed.
Cope with demands (stressors) that are associated with the job and/or the work environment so that acceptable levels of performance and overall contribution are maintained.
Associates Degree in Industrial Technology, Industrial Mechanical, or related program.
Experience troubleshooting Allen Bradley / Siemens 7 / Fanuc /Mitsubishi 840 controllers.
Experience troubleshooting Gantry/Robotic systems and controls (Fanuc, ABB, Liehberr, etc.)
Experience troubleshooting CNC Machine tools, including but not limited to: Heller, Prism, ABA, Elb, Liebherr, Mazak, and Toyoda.
Experience diagnosing, troubleshooting and repairing process mechanical systems such as conveyors, filtration systems, and coolant systems to OEM specifications.
Experience with alignments and machine geometry using precision calibration tools.
Experience troubleshooting, repairing and working safely with 480v 3 phase electrical components.
Experience utilizing measurement tools such as micrometers, dial indicators, various type gauges, and calibers to set tolerances to OEM Specifications.
Experience using ball bar and laser equipment for alignments, calibration, and compensations of CNC controlled machine tools.
Must be willing to work overtime when required. May be required to work holidays and weekends.
