Job Summary

  • Performing basic architectural/engineering calculations.

  • Preparing specifications, reports and related data tables.

  • Maintaining liaison with design and drafting groups.

  • Preparing, reviewing, and approving drawings as required.

  • Under the direction of the Supervising Architect, may perform technical assignments of moderate complexity within approved schedules and budgets.

  • May coordinate technical and administrative activities with employees in other disciplines and other departments participating on an assigned project.

  • May assist in the training and evaluation of assigned architectural and design/drafting personnel.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Landscape Architecture from an LAAB accredited program

  • 5+ years of proven applied experience in Landscape Architecture

  • Florida Registered Landscape Architect or the ability to obtain within the first six months of employment

  • Strong project management experience and the ability to manage competing deadlines and project budgets

  • Landscape construction / contract administration experience

  • Excellence in design and knowledge of technical detailed design and construction methods and practices (grading and layout plans, planting plans, construction details)

  • Experience with project coordination that involve client meetings, group presentations, and the resolution of typical issues/challenges that includes high quality design products

  • Highly developed graphic, verbal and written communication skills with demonstrated ability to present complex information to a variety of audiences including clients, communities, and peers

  • Strong project management experience and the ability to manage competing deadlines and project budgets

  • High degree of competency in AutoCAD (mandatory), Adobe Creative Suite, MS Office Suite, ArcGIS, hand drawing

  • Proficiency in 3D modeling (Sketch Up, Rhino)

  • Ability to prepare innovative conceptual landscape designs and urban public realm design alongside studio leadership

  • Skilled in landscape architecture to deliver projects from conception to construction

  • Ability to clearly write design reports, design & access statements and construction specifications are essential

  • Skilled in project management

  • Ability to work within multi-disciplinary teams

  • Ability to be proactive, confident and self-motivated with leadership qualities

  • Comfortable working in a team environment

  • Desire and ability to work independently and as part of a larger design team

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively, write clearly, and resolve problems creatively

  • A passion for parks and open space

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master of Landscape Architecture from an LAAB accredited

  • Knowledge of LEED and SITES sustainability principles, methods and practices

  • Spanish language proficiency
