AECOM Mechanical Engineering Lead in Coral Gables, Florida

Job Summary

AECOM seeks a Mechanical Engineering Lead responsible for a variety of engineering tasks in the initial planning, design and modification phase of projects. Responsible for engineering, design, and modification activities related to mechanical equipment, vessels and tanks and piping systems including equipment and piping specifications and procurement. May be involved with the support of installation and operation & maintenance of equipment. Discipline concerning air conditioning, refrigeration, ventilation, combustion, heat transfer, energy, power, fuels, propulsion, machinery, tools, manufacturing, fluids, plumbing, fire suppression systems and devices, water supplies and pumping systems for fire protection.

Discipline covers the ability to solve problems that deliver and optimize safe, sustainable and ethical solutions for the design, production and operation of devices, machines, structures, processes and systems involving mechanical elements.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provides technical leadership for a specialty and is considered to be a fully capable professional in their field.

  • Applies intensive and diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices in broad areas of assignments and related fields. Makes decisions independently on technical problems and methods, and represents the organization in conferences.

  • Resolves important questions and plans and coordinates work.

  • Requires the use of advanced techniques and the modifications and extension of theories, precepts and practices of the field and related sciences and disciplines.

  • The knowledge and expertise required for this level of work usually result from progressive experience.

  • Supervision and guidance relate largely to overall objectives, critical issues, new concepts, and policy matters.

  • Receives direction on unusual conditions and developments.

Minimum Requirements

  • BA/BS + 8 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

  • Requirement to be registered PE in the state of Florida.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 12yrs of related experience with business development experience

  • Someone to lead and grow the Engineering practice.
