Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a highly talented and motivated Mechanical Engineer III for immediate employment in the Coral Gables, FL office.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Works with other senior and junior staff in the Coral Gables office and with other AECOM offices in the development of mechanical engineering calculations and the development of HVAC and Plumbing design documents including experience with the use of HVAC system heat load and energy modeling software such as Trace or equal

  • Independently evaluates, selects and applies standard engineering techniques, procedures and criteria, using judgment in making minor adaptations and modifications

  • Independently perform all the tasks necessary to complete primary design elements for engineering works

  • Assignments will have clear and specified objectives and require the investigation of a limited number of variables

  • Receives instructions on specific assignment objectives, complex features, and possible solutions and develops solutions to a wide range of difficult technical problems

  • Works under general direction to independently determine and develop an approach to solutions

  • Assistance is furnished on unusual problems and work is reviewed for application of sound professional judgment

  • Demonstrates experience in developing Revit mechanical engineering models for a multitude of building types including high rise structures

  • Our workload includes entertainment resort projects, municipal buildings, hotels and commercial facilities throughout the State of Florida and the Caribbean

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from ABET accredited university

  • 5+ years of experience

  • Experience with production of construction drawings utilizing Building Information Modeling software such as Autodesk Revit

  • Possess a working knowledge of building codes and standards such as the Florida Building Code or International Building Code

  • Experience designing HVAC and Plumbing systems for commercial and institutional facilities

  • Experience with production of construction drawings utilizing AutoCAD and Building Information Modeling software such as Autodesk Revit

  • Performance at this level requires developmental experience in a professional position

Preferred Qualifications

  • PE registration in mechanical Engineering is preferred

  • LEED accreditation preferred

  • Possess a working knowledge building codes and standards such as the Florida Building Code or International Building Code

  • Experience in the Healthcare field is preferred
