Job Summary

The Water Business Unit of AECOM is actively seeking a Structural Engineer for immediate employment in the Conshohocken, PA office. The successful candidate will support the Water Business Unit design teams to complete a variety of projects that involve Hydraulic Structures and dam design. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Structural analysis and design for dam and other water resource related projects

  • Performing structural calculations, modeling and analysis to determine loading capacity and performance of existing and proposed new structures

  • Supporting Risk Assessments and Potential Failure Mode Assessments (PFMAs)related to dam design, construction and operation

  • Working closely with other engineers, architects, planners and construction manager teams as well as independent work on creative projects

  • Plan, direct, and supervise small to moderately sized projects

  • May be responsible for Project teams that include 5 or more members often representing multiple business lines, working in remote locations and including a subcontractor(s)

  • Proposal writing and production of construction documents and specifications working directly with clients and building trusted relationships

  • Helping to grow AECOM by identifying and developing work opportunities

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering from ABET-accredited institution

  • 5+ years of experience related to dam safety, dam design and dam construction

  • Professional Engineering License required

  • Must have strong technical progression within structural engineering

  • Must be experienced in the design/construction review of annual dam operation and safety reports

  • Must possess a valid driver's license

  • Experience with dam related design criteria from the FERC, USACE and Reclamation

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience performing PFMAs or similar assessments for water dams

  • Masters degree in Engineering
