Job Description
AECOM is seeking a Civil Highway Project Engineer to be based in the Greater Philadelphia Area. AECOM has offices in Philadelphia and Conshohocken, PA as well as Newark, DE.
In this role, you will provide technical oversight to teams working on medium to large scale transportation projects in the Greater Pennsylvania Area. A Civil Highway Project Engineer will typically manage the civil/highway team on a given project and as a supporting technical resource.
You will mentor task leaders through the review of their proposed approaches to solve new problems and identified calculation discrepancies, verification that work is performed within the agreed upon budget and schedule, and enforcement of all applicable quality assurance and safety protocols. You will support the AECOM project manager as well as convey staffing and schedule requirements to the AECOM technical department manager.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Technical oversight and input on roadway geometry, traffic control, signing, pavement markings, and utility coordination
Mentors task leaders to collaboratively develop technical approaches to unique project circumstances and facilitate high-quality work by others.
Participates in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables.
Coaches task leaders to coordinate civil/highway design efforts with the design of other disciplines
Performs quality control review of design calculates and drawings.
Prepares technical specifications.
Works with project team to develop construction cost estimates.
Provides input to the development of engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering plus 6 years of related civil highway project engineering experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
Demonstrated experience with roadway geometry, traffic control, signing, pavement markings, and utility coordination
Professional Engineering (PE) License
Valid Driver's License with good driving record
Preferred Qualifications:
PennDOT or Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission design experience and familiarity
Experience utilizing spreadsheet, word processing and other standard office software
OpenRoads and/or Civil3D software familiarity
SignCAD or GuideSign software familiarity
Ability and willingness to offer mentorship to various levels of staff
