AECOM Civil Engineer IV in Columbus, Ohio

Job Summary

Civil Engineer IV

Akron, OH

AECOM is seeking a Midlevel experienced Civil Engineer experience working on design projects such as civil site development, landfill design (including geomembrane, piping, new cell construction, capping construction, etc.), coal combustible residual (CCR) impoundments and material management, and permitting. Ideally candidate would be located in one of AECOM's Akron, Ohio office, but remote work is likely also acceptable. As an experienced engineer in this location, some of your duties will include assisting in managing projects, plan development using AutoCAD Civil 3D, hydrologic and hydraulic analysis, stormwater management, and construction oversight. Candidate will be expected to mentor and direct junior staff.

Your attributes

  • A minimum of 6 years-experience is required.

  • Candidate must also be able to work as part of a project team comprised of AECOM staff and subcontractors.

  • You will have the flexibility to work on a multitude of diverse projects, have a positive attitude, and a willingness to mentor junior staff.

  • Field work may be required including oversight of subcontractors.

  • Work will primarily be performed in an office setting with occasional site visits to project sites as dictated by the project requirements.

  • This position offers a career track to Program or Project Management if desired.

Responsibilities will include, but may not be limited to the following:

  • Project and task support, report writing, cost estimating, civil design and permitting.

  • Qualified candidates must be comfortable with periodic travel.

  • Flexibility to work on a multitude of diverse projects, a positive attitude, willingness to mentor junior staff, and commitment to workplace health and safety are imperative.

Minimum Requirements

  • BA/BS and 6 years of experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and education

  • Valid Driver's license

Preferred Qualifications

  • 10 years of experience in civil engineering design and permitting

  • Report writing

  • PE Licensure or ability to obtain within 6 months is preferred
