AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Entry Level Engineer for employment in the Colorado Springs, CO office. Under the responsible charge of a Professional Engineer:

  • Candidate will be part of a team inspecting and monitoring highway and bridge projects at the construction site

  • The team will ensure that projects are built according to the plans and specifications

  • Individual should be responsible and be able to learn very quickly on the job

  • Review drawings, specifications and manuals to prepare for the inspection. Understand the design of the construction that will be inspected

  • Monitor general contractor and subcontractor work and progress ensuring their work meets the requirements of specifications and drawings

  • Document the results of the inspection and documenting daily progress

  • Conduct field measurements and establish construction project pay estimates as well as other contract administration documentation

  • Inspect work zones for proper traffic control setup, erosion control devices and maintenance thereof, utility coordination and right-of-way issue resolution

  • Provide guidance to field junior inspection staff when applicable

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Construction Management

  • Capable of using spreadsheet, word processing and standard office software

  • Basic knowledge of industry standard computer software for the position (examples include software such as CADD, HCS, AutoCAD, MicroStation, GIS, Hydrologic/Hydraulic models or other drainage and water modeling software)

  • Candidate must have valid driver license

  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.

  • Ability and willingness to do variable shift or out of town work which may be required.

  • This position does not include sponsorship for US work authorization

Preferred Qualifications

  • CDOT Inspector certification or ability to acquire CDOT certifications for concrete, asphalt, erosion control, traffic control, etc. desired.

  • Technical/professional experience

  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Fundamentals of Engineering (FE)
