AECOM Buyer Purchaser in Cold Lake, Alberta

AECOM is currently seeking a Buyer Purchaser to be based at our Cold Lake, Alberta location. This is a full time position; 5 day on 2 day off rotation. There is NO Travel and/or Living Out Allowance provided.
This position reports to the Project Manager and responsible for identifying sources of materials and equipment, evaluates the capabilities and performance of suppliers, and selects qualified suppliers based upon their ability to provide competitive pricing, acceptable terms, appropriate material quality, and timely supply of goods.
Performs purchasing functions in conformance with the requirements of the prime contract with the client.
Issues requests for quotations, evaluates supplier quotations, plans and conducts negotiations, prepares cost and price analyses, availability studies, risk analyses, bid analysis summaries, and award recommendations that treat suppliers fairly and ethically, protects the company's interests, and promotes best value awards
Awards, issues, and documents all agreements with suppliers.
Monitors supplier performance, issues change orders, and manages supplier relations.
Resolves disputes with suppliers and evaluates supplier performance.
Prepares, compiles, and maintains auditable records of the purchasing process.
Maintains awareness of market conditions and delivery trends to determine future material availability and pricing probability.
Manages purchase orders to ensure timely completion, compliance with requirements, and appropriateness of invoices and payment.
Assists in the preparation of procurement and materials management documents and maintenance of records.
Prepares Requests for Quotations for non-engineered materials and equipment.
Introduced to the process of supplier capability and qualification evaluation.
Assists in the tabulation and evaluation of bids.
Assists in the maintenance of purchasing documents
Keeps management advised of significant purchasing issues and potential problem areas.

Diploma/Certificate in supply chain management, business, engineering, construction management, economics or demonstrated equivalent combination of education, training and related experience.
This is entry level position.
Minimum 2 years of experience in purchasing, and/or other procurement, supply chain and materials management function is required.
Understands basic procurement and materials management concepts and principles.
Strong computer skills (i.e. Windows 10, MS office - Word, Excel, and Outlook).
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Able to work independently and work well with others.
Quick learner and take directions well.
Previous work experience in materials management, engineering or construction, similar to that obtained through an internship, is preferred.
Previous experience using materials management system.
